Quick Start Guide

This guide will help you get started with PixSplat quickly. We'll cover the basic features and how to create your first pixel art project.

Creating a New Project

  1. Launch PixSplat
  2. Click "New Project", if the welcome popup is visible there is also a "Create a new project" button. If the welcome popup is not visible, the "New Project" button is the first button in the top left corner. You can also go to File > New Project to create a new project.
  3. Set your canvas size (default is 512x512 pixels)
  4. Click "Create"

Basic Drawing

Using the Draw Tool

  1. Select the Draw tool from the toolbar (or press Shift+D)
  2. Choose a color from the color palette or click on the color rectangle in the color panel to open the color picker.
  3. Click and drag on the canvas to draw.

Using the Eraser Tool

  1. Select the Eraser tool from the toolbar (or press Shift+E)
  2. Click and drag on the canvas to erase.

Working with Layers

  1. Expand the Layers panel by clicking the Layers text or the button on the right most side panel of the interface.
  2. Click the "+" button to add a new layer.
  3. Use the eye icon to toggle layer visibility.
  4. Drag layers to reorder them.

Saving Your Work

  1. Click File > Save (or press Ctrl+S/Cmd+S). If you are on the desktop version you will have to specify a location and filename. If you are on the web version, the file will be saved to your browser's default download location.
  2. Select your preferred format and compression quality.
