This guide will help you get started with PixSplat quickly. We'll cover the basic features and how to create your first pixel art project.
Creating a New Project
- Launch PixSplat
- Click "New Project", if the welcome popup is visible there is also a "Create a new project" button. If the welcome popup is not visible, the "New Project" button is the first button in the top left corner. You can also go to
File > New Project
to create a new project.
- Set your canvas size (default is 512x512 pixels)
- Click "Create"
Basic Drawing
- Select the Draw tool from the toolbar (or press
Shift+D
)
- Choose a color from the color palette or click on the color rectangle in the color panel to open the color picker.
- Click and drag on the canvas to draw.
- Select the Eraser tool from the toolbar (or press
Shift+E
)
- Click and drag on the canvas to erase.
Working with Layers
- Expand the Layers panel by clicking the Layers text or the button on the right most side panel of the interface.
- Click the "+" button to add a new layer.
- Use the eye icon to toggle layer visibility.
- Drag layers to reorder them.
Saving Your Work
- Click File > Save (or press
Ctrl+S
/Cmd+S
). If you are on the desktop version you will have to specify a location and filename. If you are on the web version, the file will be saved to your browser's default download location.
- Select your preferred format and compression quality.
