Installation Guide

PixSplat is available in two versions: a web-based version and a native desktop application. Both versions are free to use and offer powerful pixel art creation tools.

Web Version

The web version of PixSplat is the easiest way to get started:

  1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari)
  2. Visit pixsplat.com
  3. Click "Start Drawing" to begin

Web Version Requirements

  • A modern web browser with WebGPU support
  • Chrome 125+, Firefox 125+, or Edge 125+
  • A computer with a compatible GPU
  • Internet connection (for initial load)

Desktop Version

The desktop version offers enhanced performance and offline capabilities:

Windows Installation

  1. Download the installer from pixsplat.com
  2. Run the downloaded .exe file
  3. Follow the installation wizard
  4. Launch PixSplat from the Start menu

macOS Installation

  1. Download the .dmg file from pixsplat.com
  2. Open the downloaded file
  3. Drag PixSplat to your Applications folder
  4. Launch from Applications

Linux Installation

PixSplat is available as AppImage:

AppImage

  1. Download the AppImage from pixsplat.com
  2. Make it executable: chmod +x PixSplat-*.AppImage
  3. Run: ./PixSplat-*.AppImage

Desktop Version Requirements

  • Windows 10+, macOS 10.15+, or modern Linux distribution
  • 4GB RAM minimum (8GB recommended)
  • Compatible GPU with WebGPU support
  • 1GB free disk space
